3 Easy Styles with HairZing

3 Easy Hairstyles with HairZing

One of my favorite things about blogging is getting to try out new hair products that I had never seen or had the chance to try before.  I recently got to try a new hair product out called Hairzing.  They are a unique, beautiful product and I wanted to share it with you because they are pretty cool!

Hairzings are a beautiful accessory and also a hair tool.  They are two combs that are connected by beaded elastic.  The elastic is really high quality and durable, as are the combs.  They have some really beautiful and fun designs to chose from.  I also love that the company is dedicated to empowering women.  The accessories are hand beaded by women in Africa who are paid well above average wages and they try to create a better life for them.  The company also gives back and helps with education programs for African girls.  To find a good product is always exciting, but when you find a company behind that product that gives back or does good, it always makes me love it more.

3 HairZings

There are so many hairstyles that you can do using the products that Hairzing offers.  They are made to stand alone and be all that you need to secure your style, making styling quick and easy.  Today I’m going to show you how to do 3 easy styles with HairZing – a ponytail, a French twist updo, and a braided updo.  The clips stay in very well and these would be great for all ages and occasions.

Let’s get started!

French Twist Updo

French Twist Updo

French Twist Updo

Supplies Needed:  Hairbrush, Hairzing clip

Time Required:  1 minute

Skill Level:  Easy

Step 1.  Start by brushing the hair out.  Gather all of the hair like you are creating a low ponytail, holding it a few inches out from the scalp of your head.  You should use your dominant hand for this.

Step 2.  Take the index finger of that hand and lay it across the ponytail, then use that finger to hook the hair and twist and pull it upward until you have created your French twist.

Step 3.  Hold that in place with your non-dominant hand and use the dominant hand to lay the Hairzing across the French twist, making sure the combs are facing out away from the head.

Step 4.  Take one side of the Hairzing clip, pull it out away from the French twist, flip it so that the combs will line up with the curve of the head and push it back towards the center of the head.  Repeat this on the other side.

You’re done!

The combs of the Hairzing should be laying against the head, and be sure that it’s not too close to the nape of the neck.  You also want to be sure and try to line them up on either side of the ponytail so that they wind up interlocking under the ponytail.

Ponytail Style

Supplies Needed:  hairbrush, Hairzing clip

Time Required:  1 minute

Skill Level:  Easy

Step 1.  Start by brushing the hair out.  Gather it all into a ponytail in your hands.

Step 2.  Take the Hairzing and put your hand through the center of the beading so that the combs are facing up.

Step 3.  Use your hand that has the Hairzing on it to grab the ponytail securely, then take the comb on one side and twist it a couple of times, then pull it out and flip it so that the curved part of the clip will lay against the curve of the head, push the comb into the hair and back in towards the ponytail.  Repeat this step on the other side.

You’re done!

Dutch Braided Updo

Supplies needed:  hairbrush, Hairzing clip

Time Required:  5 minutes

Skill Level:  Easy

Step 1.  Start by brushing the hair out.  Do a Dutch braid back by doing like a French braid, but braid under instead of over for each stitch. (see Dutch braid tutorial here).

Step 2.  Take and lay the end of your braid back up and over the Dutch braid part.  If you are doing this on long hair, you may want to tuck the end back under where you layed it up and over, sort of creating a long bun.

Step 3.  Securely hold that in place and lay the Hairzing over it so that the combs are facing up.  Place a hand on top of the beaded part (on top of the braid) so as to hold it in place well.

Step 4.  Pull the Hairzing out on one side, flip the comb so that it will line up with the curve of the head, and slide it back in towards the braid so that it’s securely in place.  Repeat this process on the other side.

You’re done!

If you have any loose hairs sticking out at any point, you can tuck them back in or take them and twirl them and then pick up a beaded section of the Hairzing and tuck them under that.

There are even more great things that you can do with these cool accessories than this.  If you check out Hairzings on YouTube here, they have a lot of style ideas.  If you want to try a Hairzing yourself, you can shop their store here.  Use promo code “LORI10Z” for 10% off!
