I don’t know if you know who Emily Meyers is or not, so let me tell you a little bit about her. Emily is a blogger, she blogs at The Freckled Fox. She is a strikingly beautiful red head, but more striking than her looks is her inner beauty. She is sweet and kind. I love all of her hair tutorials of course, but more than that I love to hear her talk about her family and motherhood. Emily is a young mama of 5 little ones, age 5 and under! You can just feel her joy for motherhood – it’s inspiring and always encourages me. I always wanted to be a mom “when I grew up” and I think it’s the best job in the world. It always blesses me to know that there are other moms out there who think that being a mom is the best job in the world too!
Emily’s husband Martin was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma when Emily was pregnant with her 5th child. It’s been a tough year for her as they have battled his cancer, but the way that she handled it has impressed me so much. Emily has remained positive and so very strong. The way that she keeps it together with such dignity and grace is truly inspiring. Just watching her so filled with hope made me hope along with her, I was so certain that Martin would recover.
I read her latest blog post today. The doctors said that there isn’t anything else that they can do for Martin and that he only has a few weeks left. I sobbed, my heart breaking for this young mama and her family. I know that God will take care of her and supply for her, how He heals hearts is such an incredible thing. I will be keeping them in my prayers, but I also find myself wishing I could do more. I then found that someone started a YouCaring Fundraiser for them. Since I can’t go give this incredible woman a giant hug and offer to clean her house and cook her meals, I am sharing this with you here. I ask that if you are touched by Emily’s story and you are able to, will you please consider giving and helping out their family financially. I know that every little bit helps. She’s going to need all the love and help she can get.
