Infinity Braid tutorials - such an easy and different looking hairstyle!
We are on to day 11 of the 30 Day Braiding Challenge – 30 Days of New Braids,

Today’s challenge is the infinity braid.  It gets its name from the fact that you are essentially wrapping one piece of hair in a figure 8 or infinity symbol the entire time.

This one looks a bit similar to a fishtail braid, but the edges are more rounded and you do this braid tightly whereas with a fishtail, you can do it pretty loose and pull it to soften it up.  It’s a neat looking braid though and one that I love knowing how to do.  I hope that you will give it a try!

The Technique

Infinity Braid tutorial from Jenni’s Hairdays.  She says in her video that if you have layers or shorter hair, you won’t want to go all the way down.  If you have longer hair though, you can make a nice long infinity braid if you’d like.

Additional Ways to Use the Technique

Infinity Braid tutorial by Ffashionails.  They teach this just a bit different than the first one above teaching the technique.  They show us how to do it with adding bobby pins into the braid as you go to secure the piece of hair that is wrapping around.

Infinity Braid Tieback tutorial by Cute Girls Hairstyles.  I love the look of this tight braid against the soft curls in this tutorial, but it would look great on short hair too.  It’s a perfect way to keep your hair out of your face this summer!

Rope Braid into Infinity Braid tutorial by Confessions of a Hairstylist.  I love how she contrasts the soft, loose rope braid with the tight infinity braid, but you could do the rope braid tight and it would look very pretty too!

Infinity 3D Box Braid tutorial by HairAndNailsInspiration.  They teach us how to take the flat infinity braid and make it a 3D braid by wrapping our infinity piece around four strands instead of two.   Quite a complicated looking braid, but give it a try if you have already mastered the Infinity braid and are looking for a challenge!
