Slide Up Braid tutorials - this is such a cool concept and a great way to up your braid game! Gotta try these all
We are on to day 27 of the 30 Day Braiding Challenge – 30 Days of New Braids.

Today’s challenge is the slide up braid.  There are a few different ways that you can do a slide up braid.  It’s basic concept is that you take a braid, then you hold a strand of it and push up on the other strands, sliding them up the one strand and giving you a totally different look.  There is some technique involved though because if you don’t take the proper strand to hold and slide the other strands up, it won’t look right.  So here are some tutorials showing you how you can use a slide up braid to create a unique look!

4 Strand Slide Up Braid tutorial by Cute Girls Hairstyles.  This is my favorite slide up.  It’s eye catching and different looking while actually being quite easy, especially if you already did a 4 strand braid on day 4 of this challenge.  (Note that these are typical 4 strand braids vs. woven 4 strand braids.  You can do the slide up on the woven one, to see it check out this post by Hair Romance here.)

4 Strand Slide Up Braid tutorial by Bebexo.  This is the same technique as above, but I love how you can see here how it looks when used as a pull pack on both sides.  This is cute for older girls and women too!

“Spring Rings” Unique Hairstyle tutorial {rope braid slide up} by Princess Hairstyles.  I was digging pretty deep online looking for other slide up braid tutorials to share in this post.  I was excited when I saw the picture of this one because I knew that those had to some sort of a slide up braid, and I was right!  Princess Hairstyles says in her description box that she realizes this one won’t be for everyone, but that her daughter loves it — I think that’s great and I totally agree!  It might not be a look that everyone wants to do, but it is a cool concept that I think some people will love!

8 Strand Pull-back Braid tutorial by Jenni’s Hairdays.  I had to make sure I included something a little more challenging in today’s post for my more advanced readers.  I’m including this tutorial because it involves a 4 strand slide up braid.  I’ve done this one before and I just love it!

3 Strand Slide Up Braid Updo tutorial by Sam Villa Hair Tutorials.  This one is a bit edgier looking!  The concept is cool and different.

6 Strand Slide Up Braid tutorial by DeHaarSchool Miranda Mulder.  I absolutely love the way that this braid looks – but I could not find a tutorial for it in English!  Hopefully you can pick up what she is teaching just by watching.  If not – leave me a comment below and tell me if you would like a tutorial in English.  If I get some requests, I may add it to my to do list!
